Thank you for visiting the fansite of Lloyd Nolan. Remember him as the cranky doctor on the 1968-71 TV series Julia? He really wowed Broadway in the 1950s as Captain Queeg in "The Caine Mutiny Court Martial." Our parents' generation probably remembers him best as the wise-cracking central character in the Michael Shayne (private investigator) film series, beginning in 1940. Here's what he looked like as that delightful character:
NY radio host Joel Blumberg and I (Sandra Grabman) have written Lloyd's biography, spotlighting not only his professional life, but also his very impressive personal life. His friends, co-stars, and grandson have shared with us their experiences with this fine man, and we came away with a very well-balanced account of his life story. Entitled Lloyd Nolan: An Actor's Life With Meaning, it was published by BearManor Media in 2010. We hope you'll enjoy it.
